Professional Services

Sheridan + Tierney Architects provide the full range of Architectural Service from initial concept design to completion of contract.
Most of the projects referred to above have ‘bought in’ QS/M+E/Struct Eng/PSDP services as required with S+T Architects as the lead consultant.

DES Capital Grants projects have been carried out with S+T as the lead consultant in the Design Team selected by the DES.

The consultants, with whom we have worked with on recent projects all have have extensive experience  of Educational Projects are the following –

We have worked with the above consultants on various educational projects and all have very extensive experience of the DoES and the requirements of  the GCCC form of contract

Fire Certification
Fire Certificates  Applications are prepared ‘in house’ with services bought in if the project presents particular complexities

Disabled Access Certification
Since the introduction of requirement in public buildings to have a DAC in 2010, all Applications have been prepared ‘in house’

Methodology for considering H+S in design

PSDP
Preliminary Safety & Health Plans are prepared by the firm in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006, and the “Guidelines to the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2001” published by the Health & Safety Authority. In larger and more complex projects, the services of a Specialist are ‘bought in’

Included in the PSDP are the following which are addressed from the outset of a project –

  • A review of ‘Particular Risks’ only, as defined by S.I. 504 of 2006 likely to be encountered in the project.
  • Risk Assessments are carried out by the Designers and are contained within an Appendix to the PSDP
  • Health and Safety implications during the project (and in respect of the life of the structure) relevant to its design are  catered for in the relevant design drawings and specifications etc.

Due to downturn in Construction, personnel who have worked with the company in the past are providing additional resources as required on a part time basis

Building within Budget
The design process is examined at appropriate stages by Quantity Surveyor (QS) to ensure project at Tender Stage is within budget.
QS monitors cost control during Construction and at Payments/Final Account phases of the project.

Professional Indemnity
The firm is insured with RIAI Insurance Services

Tax Clearance Certificate
The firm holds a current Tax Clearance Certificate details of which can be forwarded on request

Fees
Fees are calculated on hourly rate for reports when the nature of the content is not clearly stated prior to commencement. Hourly rates to be agreed prior to preparation of report.

Fees for a specific report the content of which can be determined prior to commencement (e.g. Impact Assessment/Structural Survey) would be agreed prior to preparation of report

Fees for ‘buying in’ services to be agreed prior to commencement.

Each project to be assessed separately to determine the extent/scope of services required.
